Wheat flour – 1cup
Jaggery-1/2 cup or adjust it as sweet as you require
Banana puree- half a banana
Rice flour- 2 tblspn
Oil for deep frying
Cashews-5 to 6 broken (optional)
Cardamom powder-1 tspn
1.In a pan add jaggery,water and boil till jaggery completely dissolves.
2. Now filter it to remove the impurities and add to the mixing bowl.
3. Add wheat flour,cardamom powder,rice flour,cashews,banana puree,ghee to jaggery water and mix well to a batter consistency.
4.The batter should not be thicker then Appam will turn harder.It has to be little thicker than the dosa batter consistency and thinner than idli batter.
5.Heat oil in the pan, pour batter into the oil carefully,cook one at a time. Appam will rise and it will be fluffy also.
6. Flip on both the sides,remove from the oil,drain it and enjoy the delicious sweet Appam
7. It tastes good and nice even next day of cooking.
