Cauliflower Kuzhambu/Cauliflower gravy


Cauliflower 1 medium sized

Salt as required

Oil – 1 tblspn

Mustard seeds – 1/2 tspn

curry leaves

Garam masala – 1 tspn

Chilly powder -1/4 tspn

Turmeric powder -1/4 tspn

Coriander leaves

To Roast and grind :

Onion – 2 Roughly chopped

Tomato – 2 Roughly chopped

Pepper corns – 1 tspn

Coriander seeds – 1 tblspn

Green chilly – 2

Cumin seeds – 1 tspn

Fennel seeds – 1 tspn

Coconut – 3 tblspn grated

Method :

1. Cut Cauliflower into small pieces and soak them into hot water for 2 minutes to clean it. After two minutes strain the water and set aside.

2. In a pan heat a tspn of oil add the items under “to roast and grind “ one by one and sauté it. Cool them and grind into a smooth paste.

3. In a mixer grind coconut and fennel seeds separately.

4. In a pan heat oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and add the ground paste to it , add little water , salt and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.

5. When it’s cooked oil will get separated ,at that time add Cauliflower pieces mix well and again cook till it gets cooked completely.

6. Now add coconut paste or milk to it and cook for two minutes.

7. Finally garnish it with coriander leaves and serve with rice or roti.
